REQUIRED only when the edge is thicker than the rest of the worksurface or when there is not a clear attachment surface (just a little larger than the adjustable arm's mounting track) underneath the desk. Combine and select thicknesses to have a total thickness equal to the depth of the lip on the front of your worksurface. If there is no lip on your worksurface, you probably do not need a spacer.

Available in multiple thicknesses.
